Gary Neville
May 23, 1950 - September 27, 2015
Crash Date: September 27, 2015
Kind, loving, supportive Dad & Papu
This year my dad should be 70.
1. He was very loving, fair and always saw the best in people.
2. Gary wanted to be a DJ but since his parents told him that “Rock ’n roll isn’t here to stay” he went through to become an Accountant. His dream was to work at 1050 CHUM (he was a HUGE CHUMbug) and although he never made it there, he could see the big CHUM sign from his office at a competing radio station up the street for a decade.
3. He made a killer lasagna.
4. Papu loved to tinker with anything he could get his hands on. Building decks, sheds, doghouses and real child-sized dollhouses were some of the items he built on the weekend for his kids and grandkids.
5. Gary loved to be outside in nature, especially since he had his three grandchildren to muck around the great outdoors with him. Campfires, nature walks, animal sightings and camping in his backyard in King City were big parts of his life with his children and grandchildren.
6. Every night before he went to sleep he would read a story in either an Ellery Queen or Alfred Hitchcock magazine.
7. Gary claimed his only allergy was nurses. Guess what? He married one.
8. He loved to talk and like his oldest daughter could (and would!) talk to anyone, anywhere about anything. He was very interested in historical sights and loved to show them to people and tell stories about these places. He should have been a tour guide.
9. Daddy owned one style of tux – the one his musical idol, Dean Martin wore.
10. He passed on his gift with numbers and strategy games to his grandson Daniel and they would spend hours solving numerical problems and playing board games. He rarely played but believe me, he was not the guy you wanted to play poker against.
11. Daddy was almost always the driver with his grandchildren and family. He could drive anything with wheels – big rigs, buses, sports coupes – you name it.
12. He was a great swimmer.
13. Gary loved to watch movies, especially comedies and detective ones. He liked to figure out the mystery before the end of the show.
14. He was not fond of fish but would happily accept kisses from Milly after she ate bites of fish and rice…and after each bite she would seek him out…
15. His favourite colour was blue and he knew sign language.
16. Gary was funny, creative, smart, loving and brave right until the end.
Written with love by his daughters and son-in-law

Gary was so proud of all his Children and Grandchildren and truly spent time and had so much love for them. I have known the Nevilles and their family for a long time. Now, he is with his grandkids forever, seeing God face to face.

So many memories of a cousin that was older and always several steps ahead of me. Always interested is so many things and on the go. He found life to be full of so many interesting things and he wanted to know about them all.
