Quinn Stevenson
September 7, 1995 - August 3, 2013
Quinn left for work at the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club, a job he loved, at about 4:20 AM, August 3, 2013. Quinn’s car was struck about 4:35 AM by an impaired driver who ran a red light. We were suddenly left with an impossibly big void in our lives. This seemed so tragic and unfair considering Quinn was only 17 and enjoying his recent graduation from high school. Quinn was beginning his adult journey enrolled at the Western Academy of Broadcasting, dreaming of being a TSN Sportscaster since he was 13 years old.
Quinn was a leader, hard-worker, easy-going in nature, a true friend. He was happy, a jokester, a sportsman, and an all-around stand-up guy, the list goes on. We received so many notes after the fatal crash sharing all his endearing characteristics. Our basement, garage, and backyard were often filled with the laughter of Quinn and his friends; the loudest always being Quinn. He was loved by all and considered a best friend by many, which we believe is the greatest compliment anyone could receive. Quinn was always there for his younger brother Shea – they were best friends. Quinn’s friends became Shea’s big brothers after Quinn’s passing.
Quinn’s final years in high school were his most memorable. Quinn wore the Centennial Collegiate Charger colors with pride. He was elected as the SRC Senior Watch in his senior year at Centennial Collegiate. He participated in many school sports, which included football, curling, and badminton. Quinn’s high school curling team in Grade 11 captured the first city championship for Centennial in curling. Quinn had the opportunity to participate in the Grade 12 History Study Tour Program, where he saw a lot of Eastern Europe. He had many great stories to share with us when he returned home.
Quinn was an athlete, active in many sports, and truly enjoyed what sport gave to him. Mostly he loved being a part of the team. Quinn played hockey with the Saskatoon Redwings and then the ASHL Bruins. Quinn was a confident, take-charge, engaging and respected hockey official. In 2013, he was invited to the Bantam Sask First Camp as an official. A few weeks later he was asked to participate in a development camp at Notre Dame as an official. He had a bright future as a hockey official. Quinn could also be found on many of the golf courses during the summer. His favorite sport was baseball. He was an accomplished player, and his final triumph was helping his Slow Trains team win the Midget AA City Championship two weeks before his passing. Quinn’s calm demeaner was evident as he pitched that final game.
There is no doubt that Quinn would have achieved all his dreams and more. He was a beautiful young man, a life taken too soon by an impaired driver. We are left to dream about how different our lives would be if Quinn was still with us. We will never get to meet his wife or hold his children. Our hearts will always have a missing piece.

Visited the MADD Memorial on the weekend in Saskatoon it’s a beautiful spot for families to sit and reflect but as nice as it is, would rather be seeing your name on TSN. Think of you often, The Kozaks

Quinn, I think of you often. I remember your early days at daycare always making others smile and laugh a great friend to everyone. How you and the other kids would play with your cards, beyblades and sports. The birthday parties with Danielle and Greg and all the fun in the backyard. Watching you grow into a teen that was still thoughtful and kind. Always willing to help, taking Connor to hockey practice, tying his skates and then watching from the boards. Your graduation from grade 12 and being so proud of you and all that lay ahead for you. Then the terrible call from your family and the awful news of your passing. You are always and forever in our hearts and thoughts and missed so much. Moir Family

I will forever be indebted to Quinn’s Memorial fund and organizers for choosing our kids and school to receive opportunities that were truly driven by Quinn’s spirit. His talent, passion, generosity and kindness shon through each youth’s smile. Thank you to his family for continuing his legacy to give youth these experiences that will in turn perpetuate his loving energetic spirit. Young man, you are truly a flame that keeps on giving light, warmth and life.

Quinn your engaging smile, kindness and infectious laugh will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Extra special love to your family this year as you would have celebrated your milestone 25th birthday.

My heart aches reading this about your beautiful son. So tragic...how could anyone read this and drink and drive? May he fly with the Angels.
-Linda
I read about your son today in the news as the impaired driver that took your son was sentenced back to jail again in 2021. This must of been a trigger for you. My heart is heavy reading this. Your son sounded like a bright light in this world. Please know that there are people thinking of your lost.
